Look vintage!

I swear they were screaming my name

Hey girlz

This post wasn't supposed to even exist but on my way to the nail salon, I went through Penneys to kill some time (and the state of my savings)

And there THEY were.

Perfect. Just perfect. They were screaming my name, begging me to take them home. I had no choice, believe me.

Hello Daaarlingz

I apologize (again) for the lack of posting lately, I've been really busy these days... Preparing CVs, being a (harsh) driving instructor for me Irish who's finally gonna have his driving test, looking for jobs... We've hardly had a quiet evening so far.
This morning I received some good news though: I passed the exam for entering a school next year in Paris! hooooooray

Busy, busy, I DID find some time anyway to go through the sales...

Here are my new two beloved friends: my granny sandals from OFFICE and my granny dress from ZARA. I accessorized them with a granny Vintage belt and a granny PENNEYS bag. And a granny cigarette... I am in love with my new shoooooooes!!!!
Going on holidays on friday morning... it will be time to say bye again, at least for a very little while - where? come back tomorrow!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I left very quickly for Paris last week, this explaining the lack of posting! Now I'm back in Dublin, (strangely) not feeling like working and already bored by the temperature which struggles to reach 22...
Anyway... a little walk through Penneys managed to cheer me up and delighted my boyfriend.

I'll leave the price where it belongs (i.e on the tag), it'd be indecent for all my lovelies who spend fortunes on fancy cutie brands!!

car boot sales out & about Dublin - brocantes autour de Dublin

Today, Me and my Irish went to different car boot sales in and around Dublin, 3 to be precise.
The weather wasn't too bad, and I found some pretty cool stuff so I'll call it a good day! :-)

At the first car-boot sale, I found 3 dresses, a shirt and a skirt, Vintage, but Brand New. They still had the tag on it! They're from an Irish brand called "OZ Clothing Co."

At another stall, I found this stripy bustier-romper.

At the second car boot sale, I found 3 dresses. The first two ones come from Penneys, so nothing exciting about them, but they're cute.
The last one is lovely, and actually greener than what the picture shows.

Eventually, I rescued this little cutie - so cute I just couldn't leave it on the stall!!!!

a 1960 Guide Michelin and "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte - I feed my bookcase with classics I still haven't read!

I would have gladly tried on the frocks to show you better but they REALLY needed to be washed.... another time!

Yesterday, I went into Penneys for a quick fix. I hadn't been for 2 days - such a horrible feeling.
Hidden behind a rack of ugly mustard sweaters, was a piece of lovely cream fabric with big pink polka dots. When I took a closer look at it, it was actually a full circle dress, 50s style. And the only one left, in my size! the luck of the Iri...French!
I'm wearing it today, with a vintage brown belt. I'm pleased with my bargain (7 euros)!

It's official....summer is in Ireland!!!
Yesterday was amazing- More than 20 degrees celsius with the sun shining strong, like in normal countries!!! unbelievable!
I was so excited and so happy I wanted to do nothing and everything at the same time!

Eventually, we settled on doing both, first by walking into town in the morning and going window-shopping (a delighted boyfriend), then by having lunch in the sun, then to the park to relax and enjoy the good weather.

Thursday finds

I'm feeling quite guilty right now I must say.... but also quite content!

Yesterday, I found a pair of really nice Zara heels in a charity shop, for 6 euros! the shop is called "friends of the Elderly" and.... well, you could actually tell by the look of the shop and what was in it...
The ladies volunteering there were lovely and almost as excited as I was at the sight of these lovely shoes!

As you can see, I took some time to paint my nails for honoring them as I should!

In Penneys again I was helpless...

I got two dresses that were 3 euros each on sale, instead of 15 each. Funny how I had seen them for weeks on sale without noticing them properly! But I made up for the insult... obviously :-)

they're made of super-soft cotton making them super comfy - I love the cream lace on the breast!

Also on sale, this cute raspberry-colour cardigan that I got for 3 euros instead of 7.

Basic but cute, we always need one over a nice floral or black dress, don't we?

I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures I take... I wish I was a better photographer!

Tuesday finds

Yesterday was a beautiful day in Dublin... sunny, 16 degrees...
it doesn't happen that often so I had to make the most of my day!

It cheered me up so much it actually gave me the energy to clean up the mess in our place as it looked a bit like Hiroshima...
After that I got ready and went into town in search of great bargains in my favorite charity shops and my own paradise on earth.... Penneys...

It was the first time in ages I didn't have to wear my woolly scarf and my big coat. It felt so good!

In the 1st charity shop I went into, there wasn't much, except for a belt, which I got for 2 euros. It will look great on one of my long cardigans!

The two pairs of glasses come from Penneys, 1.50 euros each...
The brown ones look like "wayfarers" and the heart-shaped ones well.... there were so cute! I just couldn't let them in the shop....

I found this Baby doll dress in another charity shop, for 5 euros.... mint condition, perfect size, perfect blue, perfect price! It originally comes from Topshop, and knowing their prices... it's a real bargain.... I like the two layers of material that gives a puffy shape down the breast... great for a sunny day like yesterday!!

In Penneys again : there was a sale on tights and socks. The opaque tights were 1 euro the pair, and the socks, 2 pairs for 0.50 euros.... I got 5 pairs of tights and 6 pairs of socks for... 6.50 euros! Not even the price for a single pair of tights in some shops...

And last... but certainly not least... my greatest find so far! The faux fur coat hidden in the back of the charity shop in which I work...

It was originally 15 euros.... but the manager told me 10 was ok as I'm working there... I couldn't believe it!

It's in mint condition and the shape in again, perfect!! quite loose, just the way it should be worn and it stops below the bum.

I looooove it!

Today, I'm off work too... so I'll go hunting again.... :-)

PENNEYS

Penneys..... ahhhhhh Penneys!!!!! I'm CRAZY about it!!!!

For those who know "Primark", the British chain store, "Penneys" is their trading name in the Republic of Ireland.

When I arrived in Dublin, it was the revelation. I was already quite a big shopper, but discovering this new shop just made my vice worse.

In some ways, I would compare it to H&M, for it's very affordable and trendy. But the thing is, it's actually cheaper than H&M, and offers much more merchandise.

The whole shop is divided in 4 departments - Ladies, Men's, Kids, and Home, where you can find absolutely everything:
Lingerie, swimwear, nightwear, hosiery, shoes, clothes, bags, purses, make-up, accessories, jewels, beauty products, household linen, interior decoration... the list goes on....

... and all that... for ridiculous prices!

window

cotton tote bags - 2 euros

vintage-like bags - 9 euros

the huuuuge shoe section

cute wedges - 20 euros

slippers - 2 euros

lovely dresses - floral : 21 euros - orange with bows : 19 euros

scarves - 4 euros

swimsuits - prices range from 4 to 9 euros

sunglasses - prices range from 1.50 to 3 euros

lingerie - bras : 6 euros - tutu thong : 3 euros / basque : 9 euros - thong with suspenders : 3 euros - bra : 6 euros

Home section - Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley canvas : 3 euros

I guess you can now understand why 1/4 of my paye goes to "Penneys"?
My mum still doesn't... but that's another story... :-)

I wish you all a good day!!
